Dispute with: A Business, Company, or Store
Amount: $10,001 to $100,000
Description:I purchased a house from a seller who was a real estate agent/broker. Her asking price was 114,500.00. The property appraised for 205k so the seller/agent allowed for us to write a contract for the appraised value with me getting cash back at closing for repairs and other things. We had an addendum to the contract stating this. The day of the closing the lender said that they would not do the deal with that addendum being part of the contract, so after a lengthy conversation with the seller/agent, it was agreed that we would take the addendum off of the contract, and work the exchanging of the monies (65k) outside of closing. The title company told me after the closing that this deal was under investigation and that all monies were closing were frozen. I called the lender, and every law enforcement agency that I could think of and no one knew anything about any investigation. I called the title company owner and she knew nothing of any investigation. The seller put a restraining order against my husband and I saying that we are trying to extort money from her...If I knew I wasn't going to get the money, I would have purchased the house for the 114,500. Also, we think the title agent (her friend)was in on this.. We need to know what we can do legally. The seller also, gave herself a commission on the HUD. I also, have phone records, and witnesses, as well about 70 emails.
